Tip #2

March is here! Your hair may be dry and brittle from the harsh winter weather. You may also notice it has more static or doesn’t style as easily as it did before. This month, I will be focusing on simple tips to help you improve the health of your hair. Many of these tips don’t require much effort at all, so no excuses for being lazy. I promise, you’ll thank me later.

TIP #2

Invest in a silk or satin pillow case (Especially if you wear hair extensions)

Since you use your pillow every night, this is a simple way to help your hair everyday. If you have hair extensions, thinning, dry, weak, damaged, or curly hair, this is a MUST. Your hair is already stressed, so you should give it all the help you can. The many benefits from using a silk or satin pillowcase are worth every penny. Satin pillowcases are $5 and up and silk pillowcases start around $20.

Silk and satin are gentler on your hair than cotton

Cotton causes friction, especially if you move around a lot in your sleep. Satin and silk pillowcases allow your hair to glide across your pillow. You will notice your hair will have less kinks, tangles, frizz, and breakage.

Cotton also absorbs more moisture, which is important to retain for optimal hair health.

Other benefits

No more bed head! After one use, you will notice the next morning, your hair already looks better. As a result, you can decrease styling time since your hair is smoother and less tangled.

It’s also great for your skin! Helps prevent creases and wrinkles, and also helps retain moisture .

I’m always skeptical about using pillowcases from hotels, and other places. I think its great to travel with one since they are light and have so many benefits. Since it’s a key beauty item for your hair AND skin, it’s worth the small amount of space it takes up in your suitcase.

Try it today, and let me know what you think!
